The purpose of this three day course is to provide the participants with the general knowledge and practical skills required to be able to operate the machine under supervision.
Under the 2013 Construction Regulations all machine operators working on construction sites must have a valid CSCS card or valid CSCS Trainee Operators card for the item of plant being used.
This course will give them the required knowledge on how to minimise the risk of accidents in their workplace while operating machines under supervision.
The Programme will consist of a combination of classroom sessions of underpinning knowledge relating to Telescopic Handler operations, and practical operation of the Telescopic Handler.

This training course is suitable for anyone who wishes to learn how to operate Telescopic Handlers. This course will prepare candidates for the SOLAS Telescopic Handler Assessment leading to the CSCS Telescopic Handler card which is required for teleporter drivers on construction sites.
Candidates for this programme must:
Have at least six months full time experience on a telescopic handler in accordance with the 4th Schedule - of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
The six months experience must be within the last two years.
Hold a current SOLAS SafePass Card
Have completed the Completed Candidate Pack or hold a valid New Entrant CSCS trainee operators card & fully completed log book
Be at least 18 years of age
Participant must be medically fit to operate machinery

On successful completion of this programme you will be issued with an Operator Log Book and a Temporary Operator card. You are required to spend a minimum of six months operating the machine within a two year timeframe before you can apply for your CSCS final assessment. Once the log book is completed you must attend an additional 1 Day Assessment in order to receive your full SOLAS CSCS Operator ticket, which is valid for 5 years.

If you are unemployed and seeking work, you may be eligible for funding from the Department of Social Protection to cover all, or some of the costs of your training. (means depending, you may be entitled to up to €1000).
Candidates who wish to avail of this must make an appointment with a case officer in their local Intreo office, discuss their case & apply for funding. The candidate will receive a funding application form which they must sign & bring/post to us. Upon completion, we will send this back to the case officer who will then review the funding application.
Upon receiving funding approval in the post from the Department of Social Protection, candidates must then call us to reserve a place on our course. We cannot confirm a place on our course until funding approval is gained.
