The purpose of this three day course is to ensure that all participants are trained in the correct use of appropriate signals when working with high rise cranes and other such machinery under supervision and in keeping with health and safety regulations. Under the 2013 Construction Regulations all machine operators working on construction sites must have a valid CSCS card or valid CSCS trainee operator's card for the item of plant being used. This course will give them the required knowledge on how to minimise the risk of accidents in their workplace while operating machines under supervision.

On successful completion participants will receive a SOLAS CSCS Card.
After six months work experience as a banksman participants must attend a one day assessment.
Understand the relevant Health and Safety legislation.
Identify workplace hazards regarding Slinger/Signaller.
Understand the principles for the correct selection of Lifting Equipment.
Identify Safe Working Load (S.W.L.) and Safe Sling Angles.
Identify and apply the full range of Slinging and Signaling methods.
Apply and Understand Slinger/Signaller Operations.
Carry out Operational Checks on all Lifting Equipment.
Safe Slinging and signaller procedures.
Safe Storage and Handling practices.
Control of Lifting Equipment.
Security and Safe Packing of Loads.
Marking Identification.
Crane Signals.
Balance and Stability.
Requirements for this course include:
3 months experience on a site (not slinger/signaling)
Candidates must be at least 18 years old
Hold a valid Safe Pass Card

If you are unemployed and seeking work, you may be eligible for funding from the Department of Social Protection to cover all, or some of the costs of your training. (means depending, you may be entitled to up to €1000).
Candidates who wish to avail of this must make an appointment with a case officer in their local Intreo office, discuss their case & apply for funding. The candidate will receive a funding application form which they must sign & bring/post to us. Upon completion, we will send this back to the case officer who will then review the funding application.
Upon receiving funding approval in the post from the Department of Social Protection, candidates must then call us to reserve a place on our course. We cannot confirm a place on our course until funding approval is gained.
