Safe Pass

• Safe Pass is designed to raise the standard of safety awareness in the Construction Industry

• Ensure that all site personnel undergo basic health and safety awareness training with the view to making a positive contribution to the prevention of accidents and avoidance of health hazards

• Maintain a register of personnel who have received such training

Content covered is as follows:

• The Reasons for Promoting Safety

• Health and Safety at Work Legislation

• Accident Reporting and Emergency Procedure

• Accident Prevention

• Health and Hygiene

• Manual Handling

• Working at Heights

• Working with Electricity, Underground and Overhead Services

• Use of Hand Held Equipment and Tools

• Personal Protective Equipment

• Safe Use of Vehicles

• Noise and Vibrations

• Excavations and Confined Spaces

• Must be over 16 years of age

• Must hold an Irish PPS Number (this is required on the day of scheduled course, along with 1 x passport photograph & photographic ID)

• PowerPoint Presentation

• Videos

• Group Discussion

• Short mutiple choice assessment

Safe Pass is a 1 Day course.

On completion of this programme, all participants will receive SOLAS SafePass registration card that will indicate that the holder has attended a formal course in health and safety awareness. Card expires every 4 years.

Max number of participants for this course is 20.

Unemployed

If you are unemployed and seeking work, you may be eligible for funding from the Department of Social Protection to cover all, or some of the costs of your training. (means depending, you may be entitled to up to €1000).

Candidates who wish to avail of this must make an appointment with a case officer in their local Intreo office, discuss their case & apply for funding. The candidate will receive a funding application form which they must sign & bring/post to us. Upon completion, we will send this back to the case officer who will then review the funding application.

Upon receiving funding approval in the post from the Department of Social Protection, candidates must then call us to reserve a place on our course. We cannot confirm a place on our course until funding approval is gained.
